Vienna…what a pretty city. It’s beautiful. Clean. Precise. Something was missing maybe atmosphere.
Some structures look so clean and white its as if elves come out with their toothbrushes every night!
I loved it
but it wasn’t as vibrant as I had expected. It did, however, expand the little fire lit in Budapest for art.
It was awesome seeing paintings I have only ever read about in books or on the internet. Made my fingers itch for a paint brush!
Speaking of itchy fingers…
While taking in the sights I brought a ticket to a concert at the Palais Auersberg. The orchestra included John Mosse playing the lead violin on a Stradivarius… an original on loan from the Austrian Bank. The Program was simply amazing:
Overture to “The Marriage of Figaro”
Papageno-Papagena, Duet from “The Magic Flute”
Divertimento D-Major KV 136, 1. Movement
Violinconzert G-Major, 2. Movement
Duet from “Don Giovanni”
Aria from “The Marriage of Figaro”
Eljen a Magyar, Polka
Aria from “The Gypsy Baron”
Tick Tack Polka
Csardas from “Ritter Paszman”
Viennese Blood, Walz
Blue Danube Walz
I want to play the violin!
